    VariQ has an exciting opportunity for a highly qualified NOC Team Lead to support the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Chandler, AZ.


    Additional Information:

    • Salary: Dependent upon experience
    • Security Clearance: TS clearance is preferred, have to be clearable


    Description of work to be performed

    • Possess and apply comprehensive IT knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments. Typical deployments include new office setups, network infrastructure upgrades, workstation relocations, etc.
    • Work as a member of the ICE OCIO Deployment team to implement and monitor installations of hardware and software: network switches, file and print servers, tape back‐up units, desktop computers, laptops, tablets, printers, and various specialized equipment (cameras, fingerprint scanners, special test equipment (STE), etc.).
    • Contribute to deliverables and performance metrics.
    • Possess and apply knowledge of the ICE network and voice communications environments.
    • Plan and lead major technology assignments.
    • Perform hardware and software installations, as a team member or site lead.
    • Complete single engineer technology assignments.
    • Mentor and train fellow team members.
    • Install and test new servers, switches, routers, end‐user computers, network printers, external hard drives, fax servers, document scanners and other peripheral equipment, as well as operating systems software, COTS and GOTS applications.
    • Ensure end user access to Government mainframe applications.
    • Document network configurations and inventories.
    • Support the Planning phase of the ITSR project lifecycle with respect to the voice and network deployment needs by; planning, documenting, and staffing.
    • Support the Execution phase of the ITSR project lifecycle with respect to the voice and network deployment needs by; completing the on‐site installation, providing remote installation support, or supporting the on‐site engineers.
    • Support the Closing phase of the ITSR project lifecycle with respect to the voice and network deployment needs by; completing or insuring completion of all work products.
    • Utilize BMC Remedy to track and report on tickets.


    Education and Experience


    Minimum Education:

    • BS or MS in computer science or similar computer-oriented major is required

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Five (5) + years of relevant experience a wide variety of server, desktop and networking and telecommunications technologies, protocols, equipment, concepts, architectures and trade studies.
    • Ability to troubleshoot network incidents and provide a resolution report to management and / or customer.
    • Ability to document solutions with MS Office products: Word, Excel, Visio, and Project.
    • Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with customers of all levels, management and peers.
    • Ability to interact with all team members in a mentoring role. This includes assistance in troubleshooting, and transferring knowledge in regards to systems and topologies deployed.
    • Proficiency with workstations, printers, and major applications.
    • Proficiency with network equipment or servers.
    • Possess comprehensive knowledge in the Network Engineering (CCNA, CCNP, DNS / DHCP, Firewall, VLAN, SAN, etc.) and Systems Engineering (e.g. AD / EX, MCSE, SharePoint) track
    • Proficient with Cisco Switching, Multi Path high availability, GLBP, HSRP, QoS, routing protocols , BGP), OSPF, EIGRP), WLAN, Prefix Lists, NAT, PAT, MPLS, VoIP, video, IDS / IPS, NAC, Cisco Wireless Access Points and firewalls.
    • Experience in various Windows OS versions, AD / EX.
    • Ability to develop and execute address plans for IPv4, IPv6 and ITU E.164

    Preferred Certifications:

    • CCNA
    • MCSE
    • MCP
    • CCIE

    Security Clearance Requirement:

    • TS / SCI clearance or can be cleared
