    VariQ has an exciting opportunity for a highly qualified Security Analyst to support the DOS project in Washington, DC.

     

    Additional Information:

    • Location: Washington Metro Area
    • Salary: Dependent upon experience

    Responsibilities

    Security Analysts perform the duties related to analyzing, designing, establishing and monitoring the operational, managerial and technical security controls protecting the automated systems and data contained within them.

     

    Duties typically include activities such as:

    • Performing and managing risk categorizations and assessments;
    • Developing and maintaining system security plans;
    • Assessing vulnerabilities and vendor patches;
    • Ensuring security concerns are addressed early and continuously throughout the development life cycle;
    • Establishing and maintaining interconnectivity and data sharing agreements;
    • Providing and managing security awareness training;
    • Interpreting regulations and developing local policy; and,
    • Keeping abreast on current technology, vulnerabilities, and threats.

    Qualifications

    4-6 Years’ experience is required, with Specialized Experience: Specialized experience shall be recent (within 3 years) and comprised of performing the duties in support of enterprise and national systems. Experience shall demonstrate knowledge of industry and federal standards such as FISMA, NIST 800-53 and OMB 130A.

     

    Education: This position requires a BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering or related fields.
