    VariQ has an exciting opportunity for a highly qualified Task Lead to support a client in Washington D.C. to maintain and operate systems consistent with client requirements for connectivity, redundancy, agency interoperability, restorability, and hardness needed to support routine and emergency operations.  The Task Lead will oversee and manage a group of 7-10 individuals.

    Responsibilities

    • Review and evaluate customer and/or system functional and technical requirements to assist in the development of program's plans, requirements documents, cost/benefit analysis, work breakdown schedules, performance goals, risk analysis and quality assurance measurements.
    • Develop a System Requirements Validation Matrix (SRVM) to provide bi-directional traceability that clearly provides traceability of performance to requirements and indicates metrics and verification methods used to validate requirements are met within client set standards.
    • Analyze technical requirements to support solution development.
    • Must attend Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMS), prepare engineering diagrams, drawings, to include OSI Layer I and III drawings, data flow diagrams, conduct propagation studies, red-line drawings, disposition plans white papers, and coordinate technical issues with the client.
    • Prepare detailed timelines and schedules for assigned tasks, oversee and provide quality assurance for work performed by third party contractors.
    • Conduct site surveys and generate site survey reports for any and all systems supported by the client.
    • Assist at all levels during the development of all required technical documentation, to include but not be limited to the following: Operational Requirements Documents (ORDs), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), System Requirements Validation Matrix (SRVM), System Level Test & Integration Plans, NAS Change Proposals (NCPs), training documentation and Joint Acceptance Inspection (JAI) documentation.
    • Assist both the client and/or other vendors in the installation of all required communications systems except where specific certification requirements (e.g. tower installation) are necessary, such exceptions are solely determined by the client.
    • Planning and installation of hardware and software and the test and cutover exercises required for system validation/acceptance to the end goal of Full Operational Capability (FOC).
    • Assist the client in emergency response to planned and unplanned events, including but not limited to, disaster response, special security events, accident sites, and any other locations where existing telecommunications capabilities are insufficient for client requirements.
    • Assist the client in the testing of all installed hardware, software and systems. Must provide as Test Plan for each installation.
    • Coordinate with the William J. Hughes Technical Center and/or local representatives to assist with acceptance testing.
    • Assist the client with vendor/subcontractor oversight to assure requirements from the William J. Hughes Technical center and other client entities are met.
    • Assist and complete documentation as needed for spectrum approval and licensing.
    • Provide the client with maintenance support for all installed systems following acceptance. The Contractor must also provide client personnel with specialized training to support installed systems.

    Qualifications

    • Experience leading large teams within a Federal setting.
    • Previous experience working within the DOT, FAA, DHS, or federal law enforcement preferred.
    • Experience with National Security Emergency Preparedness (NSEP) requirements preferred

    Education Requirements/Years of Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree (Masters Preferred) in a related field. Additional years of experience can used in lieu of a degree
    • 15+ years’ experience.
    • Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License
