  • Overview

    VariQ has an exciting opportunity for a highly qualified Task Lead to carry out entire SDLC (system Development Lifecycle) to deliver software products in support of client business operations across the country. The Task Lead will oversee and manage a group of 12-18 individuals.

     

    Additional Information:

    • Location: Washington, DC Area, Occasional overnight travel may be required as well as travel from site to site.
    • Salary: Dependent upon experience

    Responsibilities

    • Carry out entire SDLC process by using agile software development methodologies and practices in which software products are delivered in increments.
    • Provide expertise as required to assist the client in the development and implementation of Knowledge Management (KM) and Knowledge Sharing (KS) solutions to both various departments and divisions.
    • Provide as-needed specialized technical consulting on the Microsoft collaboration platform, including (but not limited to) Windows SharePoint, InfoPath, Google Earth, ESRI ArcGIS Server, Portal, and Earth, and workflow and records management. 
    • Provide applications development support for workflow applications that are custom designed for client.
    • Be involved with and actively support application integration efforts with the mission critical emergency management systems and databases.
    • Gather and compile user requirements and change modifications, create design documents and scope estimates, develop prototype sample applications and production-ready applications, create and operate test scripts (both automated and manual test suites), develop end-user documentation and training documents, and modify the programming code to address changes requested by the user community.
    • Promote the use of EON to internal and external stakeholders to foster quality collaborative initiatives and innovations in the areas of: Training, Data Enrichment, Geospatial capabilities, Data Sharing, and custom EON applications.
    • Promote and integrate the client’s core emergency network and research additional data toolsets to understand, analyze, and act on this data in the event of an emergency.
    • Develop software modules and processes to enhance, refine to improve existing emergency operations and aviation data often presented in a raw format.
    • Provide support for the design, implementation, configuration, replication, monitoring and optimization of the Windows Server infrastructure (production, testing, and development domains) that supports the SharePoint and .NET environment for the network.
    • Provide support for the development of applications using computer languages and web technologies frameworks such as JavaScript, JScript, JQuery, XQuery, VB Script, PowerShell script, VB.NET, C#, XML, .NET, Google Maps and Earth Enterprise, ESRI JavaScript API, Active Directory, LDAP programming, XSLT, SharePoint Designer, Visual Studio, Infonic, Bamboo, Bootstrap, AngularJS, InfoPath, and standards based Web Services.
    • Responsible for modifying software components to address requested changes.
    • Provide GIS services in the form of programming geospatial products, automatic ingestion of public and private geospatial data sources, database creation and maintenance, web service creation and maintenance to include map services, feature services, location services, and geoprocessing services, project coordination, application training development, web map development, client services including briefings and trainings, and Global Positioning System (GPS) technology coordination.
    • Develop, update, and maintain existing training scripts within client training system.
    • Develop and maintain recorded on-demand training sessions, and/or develop training scripts for additional applications – to include customized workflow applications and any other applications developed in the future.
    • Provide the first, second, and third level engineering customer support for client network suite of products and tools.
    • Responsible for direct one-on-one daily interaction with the nationwide user community proactively and when customer support is requested.
    • Responsible for triaging end user requests and feedback such as bugs and change requests, resolving common user computer issues, modifying and updating training materials in multiple media formats, delivering online and in person product training.

    Qualifications

    • Experience leading large teams within a Federal setting.
    • Previous experience working within the DOT, FAA, DHS, or federal law enforcement preferred.
    • Experience with National Security Emergency Preparedness (NSEP) requirements preferred

    Education Requirements/Years of Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree (Masters Preferred) in a related field. Additional years of experience can used in lieu of a degree
    • 15+ years’ experience.
