  • Overview

    VariQ has an exciting opportunity for a highly qualified Task Lead to support on client voice and data equipment. Specifically, client has over 300 secure telephones and 50 secure faxes in its nationwide domain. The Task Lead will oversee and manage a group of 2-5 individuals.



    Additional Information:

    • Location: Washington, DC Area, some travel is required
    • Salary: Dependent upon experience
    • Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain Top Secret (SCI eligible)
    • Period of Performance: 5 years


    • Must have knowledge on the configuration, installation and update of the equipment and help with the preparation of training documents
    • Provide support in the design, implementation, operations and maintenance of a secure voice communication and secure video conferencing system.
    • Maintain the operational suitability of all client satellite telephones.
    • Provide the deployment support by conducing site surveys, installing Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards and tacking locations, usage and logistical concerns in the program office inventory system.
    • Perform role of Point of Contact (POC) for the maintenance and replacement of radios in the satellite network.
    • Support bi-monthly SATCOM exercises.
    • Capable of being an active, contributing participant to any potential future proof of concept projects
    • Support end-to-end Key Management and COMSEC material ordering, cryptographic key generation, distribution and accounting to support mission critical systems of the client.


    • Must have strong background in COMSEC Accounting Management and demonstrate current training and certification.
    • At least 1 Technical certification as a DoDD 8750 Information Assurance Technician (level I, II or III IAT) required ( A+, Network +, Security +, CASP, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED or GCIH acceptable)
    • Completion of the National Security Agency (NSA) certified KMI Training Course.
    • Experience leading large teams within a Federal setting.
    • Previous experience working within the DOT, FAA, DHS, or federal law enforcement preferred.
    • Experience with National Security Emergency Preparedness (NSEP) requirements preferred

    Education Requirements/Years of Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree (Masters Preferred) in a related field. Additional years of experience can used in lieu of a degree
    • 15+ years’ experience.
