VariQ’ a leader in Cyber Security, Software Development, and Information Technology, is looking for a Business Analyst to join its dynamic and fast-paced Cyber Programs division.  The Business Analyst will report to the Team Manager of SEC. 


  • Location: Onsite in DC, with opportunity to transition to remote opportunities after
  • Security Clearance: ability to attain public trust is required.
  • Available: upon award, within 30 days, currently in proposal stage
  • Salary: dependent upon experience, competitive market rate


  • Assess privacy controls utilizing NIST guidance, Security and Privacy Controls for Federal Information Systems and Organizations, NIST SP 800-53, Rev. 4, Appendix J: Privacy Controls (April 2013) – and subsequent final updates. 
  • Conduct a privacy controls assessment (PCA) for new and modified systems and projects against the SEC’s identified set of privacy controls.
  • Perform privacy analyses and evaluations of IT, wireless, Web or mobile software applications, subsystems, and components to identify privacy risks. This includes an assessment of risk levels, privacy information management, and remediation options to remove privacy risks
  • Conduct a privacy analysis and evaluation, according to OIT’s Privacy Impact Assessment Guide for this deliverable and must be skilled to develop new PIA guidance based on new Federal requirements.
  • Develop and/or maintain a system privacy plan (SPP) based on the system privacy analysis and evaluation, and for providing input into the maintenance of the plan.
  • Develop and/or maintain system privacy documentation.


  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical area or equivalent work experience.
  • Active CISA required
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in information assurance, cyber security, or information privacy and documentation;
  • Knowledge of National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-53 and Rev 4.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with all relevant parties especially with the SEC POCs and stakeholders;
  • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative manner and be a self-starter;
  • Team player capable of working in a results oriented environment;
  • Strong interpersonal, team building, active listening, and attention to detail are a must;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with strong presentation skills.
