  • Overview

    VariQ is an emerging mid-tier Government IT services provider. The Manager of Corporate Operations collaborates with the Director of Corporate Operations and/or COO to create, implement, and execute processes to support Corporate Operations. The Manager of Corporate Operations will manage internal operations functions such as HR, IT, Quality, Recruiting, Security, and Facilities, in support of business operations. They will work to create efficient, effective processes to strengthen company operations, and proactively meet the needs of scaling and mature programs. This role involves working closely with management to enhance employee performance, improve customer satisfaction, and otherwise meet the dynamic needs of the organization. We are seeking an ambitious, proactive, and challenge-driven Operations Manager with a bias for action, attention to detail, and passion for team-building and excellence.

    Objectives of this Role

    • Oversight of HR, Recruiting, IT, Security, Facilities, and Quality Department Managers; provide information exchange, assist in resolving problems, identify issues for escalation.
    • Evaluate current operational performance and assist in strategic planning for improvements.
    • Maintain clear and accurate operations documents/procedures.
    • Monitor, control and manage operations compliance to standard processes and best practices.
    • Research new technologies and alternative methods of efficiency. 
    • Identify, plan, manage, and execute projects with a focus on cross-department standardization and increased efficiency across all teams.
    • Develop and execute on year over year based on department goals.
    • Review budgets and manage costs; approve operational purchases.
    • Delegate projects to Coordinators as appropriate, while maintaining ownership over project completion, success, timeline, and adherence to budget.


    Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

    • Partner with program leadership to identify areas for operational improvement and resolve business challenges for existing department processes.
    • Partner with implementation stakeholders to ensure cross-org standardization between new and existing programs.
    • Oversee the collection and accuracy of departmental data for internal and external needs, including satisfaction of emergent data collection needs from department stakeholders.


    Skills and Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field
    • 5+ years of experience in operations management, overseeing a company’s day-to-day activities and function required
    • The ability to communicate difficult/sensitive information in a tactful manner
    • Well-developed sense of discretion regarding access to sensitive information
    • Enthusiasm and the ability to thrive in an environment of constant change
    • Demonstrated general understanding of business operations
    • Analytical thinker with great attention to detail
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change
    • Great communication and interpersonal skills


    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in business or related field
