VariQ is currently seeking a Test Engineer to perform software testing in support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM).
Location: Rockville MD, Rosslyn, VA and potential part-time telework
Salary: Dependent upon experience

Plans, develops and executes manual and automated test cases in support of the next generation replacement multi-modal biometric identification system for one of the world’s largest biometric identification systems, IDENT.
The Test Engineer will develop, execute and maintain automated test cases to ensure proper performance and integration between internal and external system components.
The Test Engineer will be responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining data-driven automated tests in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
Bachelor’s Degree or Higher and 5 years of experience.
3-5 years of automated software testing experience in testing large scale information technology and database systems comprised of JAVA, Ruby and PL/SQL programming languages.
Hand’s-on experience automating functional testing using test automation tools such as Cucumber/Gherkin, Selenium, HP Quick Test Pro (QTP), SOAP UI, SonarQube, Nessus.
Experience programming test automation scripts in languages such as Java (preferred), Ruby, or Python.
Experience in backend testing with the ability to manipulate and execute commands to achieve desired results.
Experience in regression testing.
Experience with writing SQL statements to acquire and verify test data.
Experience working with complex Java based enterprise systems.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Experience with DHS software engineering lifecycle processes (SELC) preferred.
Ideal candidate would have hands-on testing experience and/or experience with DHS OBIM IDENT or CBP systems.
Experience with IDENT.
Active DHS HQ 6C clearance (desired) or equivalent public trust clearance.
